DETAILS
Concussion management often relies on standardized assessment tools and return-to-play protocols; however, real-world clinical presentations frequently deviate from predictable algorithms. This case-based educational session is designed to enhance rehab professional’s clinical reasoning when managing complex concussion presentations across sport and performance settings. Through progressive patient cases, participants will analyze multifactorial symptom profiles, differential diagnoses, contributing psychosocial factors, and evolving recovery trajectories. Emphasis is placed on integrating current evidence, clinical expertise, and patient values to support individualized care planning.
Participants will apply clinical decision-making frameworks to ambiguous or prolonged cases, identify red flags requiring referral, and modify management strategies when recovery does not follow expected timelines. The session promotes adaptive expertise and strengthens the clinician’s ability to navigate uncertainty while remaining aligned with contemporary concussion consensus recommendations and interprofessional best practices.
