Course Description:
- This course will go over the clinical trajectories for recovery and will provide evidence-based research on progression through treatment for sports related concussion (SRC). It will include when and where to refer if symptoms persist with details for providers in your area.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be knowledgeable about the multiple concussion clinical trajectories that will help target treatment post-concussion.
- Participants will be able to examine and interpret results to allow for proper referral for continued progression.
- Participants will be able to list potential referral sources and know when to refer to each.

- Bio: Lisa Brekke is a board-certified clinical specialist in neurologic physical therapy. She is a practicing physical therapist with Kinetic Edge Physical Therapy in their Des Moines office. She has her vestibular competency certification from Emory, Certified Brain Injury Specialist from Brain Injury Association of America, Lv 1 and 2 dry needling certifications from IAMT, and is a Level 1 Credentialed Clinical Instructor through the APTA. She is the co-host of the Iowa Vestibular Symposium that emphasizes collaborative care within the healthcare profession. She spends her free time working on education and mentoring healthcare providers through her company Brekke Rehab Consulting, PLLC. Outside of physical therapy she loves reading, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family.
